The Library International University (known as the LIU) offers you the chance to explore a world of knowledge. Home to millions books and journals, the Library provides a unique space to study or meet up with friends. The comfort of the library makes an ideal place for learning and researches. IU Research Center and Library is rich in resources for student’s research and reference. Most books are from public and personal donations through the University Board of Trustees. The books are encoded, cataloged and computerized according to the new technology system in order to meet with the rapid growth of visitors and researchers who would come to read and request for lending. The center is also planning to extend its service to the challenging needs of researchers by equipping it with more books, learning resources and research materials, and certainly, Internet service connection which will be accessible to everybody.
Through supports from other organizations such as Asia Foundations etc., up to date books are delivered to the library which makes students and researchers have access to books that would aid them in their studies as well as research works.
Mission of Library International University
The mission of Library International University is to deliver world-class library and information services to meet the needs of the local, national and international scholarly community and to support the University’s mission to contribute to society through the pursuit of education, learning and research at the highest international levels of excellence.
Who can use the Library?
All members of the International University are welcome to use the Library. Academic staff and research students from other universities can apply to use the Library for reference. Undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from other Cambodian universities can apply to access the Library for reference. Private and business researchers may apply to use the Library for reference if their research requires access to materials held at the University Library. Please note that researchers wishing to access the University Library must be aged 18 years or over. A small fee is to be paid by researchers who are not members of the International University.
Opening and closing
Except on the days when it is closed under Regulation, the Library shall normally be open as follows:
- Monday to Sunday, 7 .00 to 17.00.
- No person shall enter the Library less than fifteen minutes before the time of closing.
- The opening hours of reading rooms are determined from time to time by the Syndicate.
Internal Library Regulation
- Library opens every Monday to Sunday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Please keep personal materials and things at the security post. The university won’t be responsible for any loss.
- Every time a readers enters the library, the validity card is needed and an expired card won’t be allowed
- All researchers besides students, lecturers are and staffs of International University must pay $5 for annual membership registration
- Please keep silent in the library and do not litter the floor
- No smoking in the library
- You have to dress appropriately to the library
- All researchers beside students, lecturers and staffs of International University who wants to use the internet have to pay $50 for annual membership registration
- Free Internet usage
- A reader is allowed to borrow not more than three books in a week by paying $5 per book as deposit. But the Head of each Department and Deans can borrow books without deposit. Borrowing books longer than deadline is fined 25cents per day
- All books and documents having the sign “Not For Sale” are not allowed to be borrowed out of the library.
- A borrower who has not returned back the book borrowed will not be allowed to borrow more.
- All borrowers can delay the time of returning books they borrowed by getting in touch with the librarian before the deadline.
- Please keep the books well taken care of as damaged caused on book would be paid for or as prescribed by the library Authority.
