I. Description
The Associate in Business Economics is a pathway program designed to prepare students for further studies in this field. Business Economics is the study of how people produce, trade, and consume goods and services. The Associate program emphasizes fundamental coursework in business and economics. Students with a Associate degree in Business Economics can work in fields such as business and economics and forecasting, urban real estate and regional planning, analysis of markets and industrial regulation, management consulting and in banking and financial services, and/or obtain a graduate degree in Business Economics.
II. Learning Objectives
This course provides the quantitative skills and expertise required to:
- synthesize business knowledge, disciplinary concepts, theories, principles and processes
- think critically, constructively and logically about business-related issues, problems and theoretical debates
- communicate clearly and concisely in presenting relevant knowledge and ideas to a range of audiences
- apply business-related knowledge and technical skills to resolve problems and make ethical decisions across a range of institutional, national contexts.
